The Bible and Prayer

BiblePrayer

It’s probably no huge surprise that the Bible talks a lot about prayer. If there is one thing most of us know my heart, its the Lord’s prayer. But if you’re like me, there are probably a lot of things about prayer that you didn’t know the Bible addressed. Joe Carter comes up with nine things that you need to know about the Bible and prayer. I love this list! Here are my favorites:

2. There are approximately 450 recorded answers to prayer in the Bible.

4. The Bible records Jesus praying 25 different times during his earthly ministry.

9. The word “Amen” (which means “let it be, “so be it,” “verily,” “truly”) makes its first appearance in the Bible in Numbers 5:22. In that passage God commands it to be said by a person who is yielding to his examination.

Isn’t that neat? Check out the link below and take a look a the other things you might not have known about the Bible and prayer. You might be surprised. And it even might cause you to do what the Bible encourages us to do—pray.
